The Menil Collection” is the first book of a series of monographs about museums designed by Renzo Piano around the world. It’s a book edited and published by the Renzo Piano Foundation, using only unpublished material retrieved thanks to a long process of research and classification in the archives of the Renzo Piano Building Workshop.

The Menil Collection, located in Houston, Texas, refers either to a museum that houses the art collection of founders John de Menil and Dominique de Menil, or to the collection itself of approximately 17,000 paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings, photographs and rare books. The Renzo Piano-designed museum opened to the public in June 1987.
