As a Belgian painter and draughtsman, Petrus De Man is renowned for the creation of a particularly poetic universe with raw, constructed and often very colorful accents. Petrus De Man was once a student of artist Dan Van Severen and has since had numerous exhibitions. The book owes its intriguing title to the English word ajar – ajar, half-open – and actually reveals the sources of the oeuvre and of its creation.
