Brick Index is a collection of 155 photographed bricks, printed at actual size, sorted by the colour shade. The book celebrates England’s industrial heritage and the humble object, and its embossed graphics which is not supposed to be seen by public only by bricklayers and architects. Photographs by Inge Clemente highlight the textures, colours and the sheer beauty of the bricks. Featuring an introduction from David Kitching, a brick historian and an essay by the design critic Rick Poynor.
