Pieter De Meyere

Pieter is a staff member of Copyright Gent. Trained as an art historian, he chose a book about the Italian Renaissance painter Giovanni Bellini, because he is a fan of his refined detailing and the beautiful Bellini blue. Pieter is addicted to books and that addiction started especially when he came to work in the bookshop. Now he cannot live without and the more new books he views, the more other books he discovers. His interest is broad: in addition to works on art historically important artists, he also follows contemporary art, architecture and photography. Next to ‘Bellini, The Art of Contemplation’, Pieter chose a book by photographer Luigi Ghirri, ‘Post Zang Tumb Tuuum’ about the Italian avant-garde in the period 1918-1943, ‘The Lectures’ by landscape architect icon Roberto Burle Marx, the book about the work of artist Rudolf Stingel and the beautiful publication about the architecture of Balkrishna Doshi. Pieter traveled to Basel for a weekend on his own to see the exhibitions about Stingel and Doshi.
